Prager's Hardening Rule

Submitted by felton1990 on

Hi all

I am currently investigating Prager hardening room which is stated as the simplist linear kinematic hardening rule. I was wondering if anyone has worked with this model and if so if you have managed to identify how to determine the constant used for the back stress equation

dα =C * dεp ( this is epsilon dot p which is the equivalent plastic strain)

Please can you let me know how to determine the constant C from experimental results?

Postdoc Position Available in Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Group at Drexel University (Dept. of Mechanical Eng. & Mechanics)

Submitted by Antonios Kontsos on

A postdoc position is available in the Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Group (http://tamg.mem.drexel.edu/). Of particular interest are expertise in subcontinuum and continuum computational mechanics methods. Available researh projects include both alloy and composite material systems.

Applicants should submit a full CV, a statement of research and their earliest employment availability to akontsos [at] coe.drexel.edu.

Composite simulation

Submitted by bagheriasl on

Dear All

How can I simulate a composite plate with different thickness in ABAQUS?

Suppose that we have a plate wiche is going to be modeled with 5 layers. On the other hand, considered plate has different thickness, i.e. 3 mm one side and other side 6 mm

is there any problem if we model the plate in 3D format and then stacking layers in Composite model in ABAQUS??

which material can be used for modelling a microstucture of metal foams in Abaqus?

Submitted by Rezahes on

I simulate a metal foam microstructure in abaqus but now in material property I dont know which kind of material can I use?

For example I used elasticity and plastic(crushable foam) or elasticity and plastic(isotropic hardening) ?
