I am teaching mechanics of materials to sophomore. However, our students do not have a separate static course. They get a some exposure to free body diagrams in particle dynamics. I am currently using the book by Gere and Goodno. But I found that both the teaching and learning experience were not good. Thanks a lot in advance for your suggestions!

The international conference on "Multiphysics Modeling of Solids" will be held at ENSTA-ParisTech in Palaiseau, France, on 6-8 October 2014.
I am only seeing a "x" for a UEL at its first node. And I dont see any other node of UEL. Is it correct or some problem is there?
I also want to calculate the strain energy for whole model(including UEL). But in history output I am only seeing strain energy of Abaqus defined elements under "whole model strain energy". Can some one please help me in calculating strain energy of whole model including UELs
