PhD Position in Computation of 3D Printed Composite Materials at Temple University for Spring/Fall 2024

1 funded PhD position is available in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Temple University.  One research focus is on the design of architected composite structures for 3D printing.  More broadly, the student will be exposed to computational materials and mechanics of energy, nano/bio, and engineering materials.  The student will have opportunities to work with experimentalists and data scientists to generate high-impact research works.  Temple University is located in Philadelphia, the sixth-most populous U.S.

pyLife workshop

During next week, on September 14-15, we hold a pyLife workshop at the FME Czech Technical University in Prague, Czechia. pyLife is a Python-based open-source library built previously mostly by colleagues from Bosch to deal with the fatigue life estimation (see https://github.com/boschresearch/pylife).

A CISM Advanced Course on Virtual Elements for Problems in Mechanics will be held from October 16-20, 2023 in Udine, Italy. The lecturers for the course are: Edoardo Artioli, Lourenco Beirao da Veiga. Joze Korelc, Alessandro Russo, N. Sukumar and Peter Wriggers. Both on-site participation (reg. fees Euro 600) and online participation (reg. fees Euro 250) is possible.  The registration closes on September 16th.
