EFD or CFD Softwares Help
Please, I need some EFD or CFD software that has an Student Version. I have to make an analysis Solid-Fluid and vice versa, but i have no software to make that.
Now I'm using Pro/E to make Streches and statics analysis, but i cant do any EFD or CFD without any patch or software. Anyone knows any?

ANSYS-smeared crack models
Dear all,
I just use ANSYS to model brick masonry. I use solid65 for modeling brick masonry to define crack with smeared crack model but I have some problems:
1. The solid65 is only for isotropic, beside brick masonry exbihits as orthotropic. Could you introduce me what element can model brick masonry with orthotropic behaviour to define smeared crack?

HOW TO FIND K-DOMINANT REGION
hii all..
i am working on fracture mechanics. i had modeled a 4 pt bend specimen having single notch crack(in ABAQUS). i am trying to find the range of K-dominant region at the crack tip.i had modelled radial mesh at the crack tip and using 20 noded reduced integration elements. To analyze the K-dominat region, primarily i had compared the theoritical stress plots and computational stress plots. stress plots means Sxx Syy Sxy values plotted againt the angle(angle measured from uncracked segment) at particular radius.
primary unknown of FEM formulation
In beam FEM problem generally the nodal displacement (v) and slope (θ) are taken as primary unknowns to determine the element shape function. What will be the obstackle/s if, instead of considering the slope, the nutral axis curvature (κ) is considered as primary unknown along with the displacement?
Software for meshless....
I would like to know which software is people using for meshfree simulation. Is there any more or less "standard" one that people tend to use? I'm interested in knowing about any one for any kind of problem.
