Automatic Element removal
Hi everone,
The new version of ABAQUS/CAE 6.8 seem to have capability of automatic failed element removal. Does any body has any experience about this new feature in ABAQUS.
cheers,

Hi Everyone,
I am quite new to this blog, and I enjoy of studying your comments. I have a problem in ABAQUS/CAE. I am trying to model a wood beam that has two beahviour in tension and compression. Elasto-Plastic behaviour in tension and in compression Elsto-Brittle behaviour. Is there any way to model this material in ABAQUS. My problem mainly comes back to this case that we can not assign to a beam two materail behaviour simultanously.
Thank you for your reply.

I would like to know whether any works have been done in EFGM which suggest the best points in the domain where the stresses have to be computed, like in FEM we do have Gauss points which give minimum error for secondary variables. So can any one please suggest some references in this regard?
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have recently (Fall–08) completed my Ph.D. in mechanical engineering with specialization in general areas of nonlinear structural dynamics and model order reduction. If any Prof. or research organization has an opening for a postdoc position in the areas of my technical expertise, please let me know at kumarnish [at] hotmail.com (kumarnish[at]hotmail[dot]com).
Thanks,
Nishant
The notes on finite deformation have been divided into two parts: special cases and general theory (node/538). In class I start with special cases, and then sketch the general theory. But the two parts can be read in any order.
Hello,
I'm trying to model a hollow pipe that have inside a 3D truss element. I've embedded the truss upper part in that cube shown in the picture attached.
The problem is when I apply lateral force what happens is that the bar just don't follow the pipe in its motion. The last mesh element in the embedded part isn't attached anymore to the upper cube.
Dear Friends,
I am doing M.Tech Structural Engineering at NIT, Trichy. Now i am working on modeling of composite structure in ANSYS. I need some idea about that.
How to create a nonlinear friction behaviour between steel and concrete?
Hi Friends
I want to share some of our recent research work on the stress induced phase transformation of CuZr nanowire which is published in Materials Letters.
