Does anyone use FEAP here?

Submitted by yofee on

Hi everyone,

Does anyone using feap software?

Currently I'm attempting to compiling FEAP at Visual Studio.  After I successfully building of both library and executable,

It shows "========== Build: 1 succeeded, 0 failed, 0 up-to-date, 0 skipped ==========".  I considered this as a successful compilation.

However when I run in command prompt: feap -itherm_2d  (It's the 5th example input file in FEAP software),  the errors pops up as :

Some one help me with ANSYS please!

i have what i supose to be an easy optimization problem to do it with ANSYS. it is a plate (1.75mx1.75m) with 4 holes wich i need to determine the optimum location (x,y) and radius (R)  to minimize the maximum Von Mises straining (SQV). Constraint: 0.04m<Ri<0.2m; Af>0.08*1.75*1.75. Af is the total area of holes and Ri his respective radius. P1=P2=1200N/m. Material: Steel: E=200GPa,v=0.29

how to show the stress in the thickness direction when you use the shell element with abaqus

Submitted by hua_2001 on

hello,

  •      i simulate some process using shell elment, i find the results have big difference between abaqus and lsdyna. the abaqus results always show the stress in the thickness direction is zero. but the lsdyna is not. i don't know why? if some one know that, please give me some suggestions. i heard that the abaqus can not show that stress component. if not, how can i do to calculate that and fill it into the results file (.fil file). thank you!
