Call for handling editors (4 years). Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics https://jtcam.episciences.org
Dear members of iMechanica,
The first overlay diamond open access journal in Mechanics, the Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics https://jtcam.episciences.org aims to select publications of the highest scientific caliber in the form of either original research or review in Solid Mechanics.
We are searching for new handling editors, especially, in South East Asia, India, South America and Africa for a renewable position of 4 years
Universality in Anisotropic Linear Anelasticity
In linear elasticity, universal displacements for a given symmetry class are those displacements that can be maintained by only applying boundary tractions (no body forces) and for arbitrary elastic constants in the symmetry class. In a previous work, we showed that the larger the symmetry group, the larger the space of universal displacements. Here, we generalize these ideas to the case of anelasticity. In linear anelasticity, the total strain is additively decomposed into elastic strain and anelastic strain, often referred to as an eigenstrain.
PhD position Computational Modeling of blood flow and position to asses measurements of non-invasive devices- CEA - Mines Saint Étienne (France)
The LS2P laboratory (from its French name, Laboratoire des Systèmes Portés par la Personne ) develops non-invasive devices for measuring physiological parameters such as heart rate, oxygen saturation or blood pressure. A strong integration is a key factor from the design stage of the sensors. This allows them to be integrated into bracelets, patches or headbands to make them compatible with their daily use.
Visiting Scholar - Mechanical Engineering Kettering University
The NVH and Experimental Mechanics Laboratory (NVHEM) at Kettering University invites applications for an immediate visiting scholar position to help in developing a nonlinear model for multibody simulations. The project is sponsored by one of the major automakers in Michigan.
A compatible mixed finite element method for large deformation analysis of solids in spatial configuration
In this work, a new mixed finite element formulation is presented for the analysis of two-dimensional compressible solids in finite strain regime. A three-field Hu-Washizu functional, with displacement, displacement gradient and stress tensor considered as independent fields, is utilized to develop the formulation in spatial configuration. Certain constraints are imposed on displacement gradient and stress tensor so that they satisfy the required continuity conditions across the boundary of elements.
PhD position on thermo-metallurgical-mechanical modelling of additive manufacturing at track scale
The objective of GISTEAMMM is to characterize the grain structure generated by laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) process at track scale: one track or single wall with several tracks, in which the grain structures will be obtained by both experiment and thermo-metallurgical-mechanical modelling. The anisotropic elastic-viscoplastic material laws at grain levels are expected to be extracted by considering the influence of inherent residual stress generated during printing process.
PhD Position on Sheet metal forming modeling
The Center for Material Forming (Cemef) at Mines Paris (PSL University) is looking for a candidate for a PhD position on the computational modeling of sheet metal forming.
The project focuses on remeshing strategies for localized strain phenomena in automobile applications.
The industrial partner is for the moment undisclosed.
